Just when I thought 2009 was going to be great I get a call this morning and am told that my boss of 11 years who I consider my friend and is like family to us is at Jackson Memorial Hospital in the trauma center because her 22 year old son was involved in a car accident and was ejected from the car and might not make it.
I got dressed as fast as I could and my husband to driver me there to be with her, her husband and daughter. I stopped by Dunkin Doughnuts to get them some coffee and bagels for breakfast because yall know hospital can kill someone and let me not get started with the blah coffee. Can you believe that that small gesture meant the world to them?
Like the picture fanatic and scrapbooker that I am I brought my camera and told her that even though this is a devastating time in their lives she should take pictures and document everything so that he can see the hell he put them through for not wearing his seat belt. And guess what? As hard as it must have been, she did it and she captured some beautiful touching pictures of Dad's hand on his son's chest as his sister just stared at him as well as pictures of Mom by his bed side. I promised her that I will make her a beautiful journal and add the pictures and everything they journalled.
Please say a prayer for Nicholas Garcia for us because the next 72 hours are critical and I believe in the power of a prayer.
Thank you with all my heart, Maryangella
