Got the courage.

So today I finally got the courage to submit my layouts to InspiredBlueprints.

I read they were having a designers call a little while back and you had until 11/30/2008 to submit your layouts and I thought about it every day but was too scared to submit anything and then I thought to myself, WHAT DO I HAVE TO LOSE? And the answer was NOTHING, so I decided to submit the 4 layouts I had done for their challenges as well as 4 new ones I did today. Their site is SO SO inspiring and the ladies there are so kind and full of support.

I am crossing my fingers that I make their team but if I don't at least I can say that I tried.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Challenge 36

Challenge #36 at The Design X. was a piece of cake.
All you had to do was ask yourself WHY?
Well of course I scrapped about my transmission dying on me this past Friday :D

Photobucket

Photobucket

Journaling:
Why did my transmission have to die today?
Why did it have to happen 1 1/2 hours before Angejolie had to get picked up from school?
Why did it have to happend 1 1/2 week before Thanks Giving and 1 month before Christmas?
I know why!
Because it was best to happen 20 miles from home and not 200 miles from home while on our way to Lakeland for Thanks Giving.

I had to do a 2 page layout because there were too many pictures and a whole lot of journaling this time. Can I just say that ever since I have started these challenges I find my self journaling more and more which is great. Anyhow I hope you like it. Have a great weekend.

F.O.R.D

Hello ladies, prepare yourselves for another long post.
So! This past Friday as I was driving up and down Peters Rd in Plantation trying to put Hurricane Sol to sleep my mini died right on the road. YEP! Left me stranded dead smacked in the middle of the street, thank the Lord I was able to make it to the right hand side. Now mind you, Hurricane Sol was still NOT asleep and as I was trying to call my husband she started screaming "Mama! Belt off" "Mama! Sol get down" I so wanted to pull my hair out and jump off a bridge ;D anyhow my husband showed up 15 minutes later and ladies, I kid you not when I say there is nothing he can not fix, but this time we were basically $h!t out of luck because my freaking transmission died. Here are the pictures.......

Photobucket
FORD aka found on road dead

Photobucket
My Prince came to our rescue, by the way, he just busted his @$$ as we speak :D ooh! is he mad!

Photobucket
Hurricane Sol has decided she wants to sit in her car seat, and buckle up right on the side walk.

Photobucket
Sol is walking me, did I mention it was HOT as all hell?

Photobucket
Here we go with the attitude, I was tired and hot, I was wearing high wedges and my feet hurt and oh yeah! It was HOT as all hell!!!

Photobucket
Thank the Lord that my husband was there, he managed to calm her down while we waited and waited and waited for the tow truck.

Photobucket
Finally! The tow truck!

Photobucket
Later, mini van!

Photobucket
Melt down of the year, she was so tired it had been 2 hours that my poor baby had to put up with and that was it.

Photobucket
As we re driving home on 595 I saw that, yep! My handsome husband. I had to take a picture and he laughed his @$$ off because he thinks I am crazy :D and call it what you want, I think it's cool to have pictures of everything that happens in your life, good or bad.

And ladies, that is my story for this past Friday, I am thankful that my car did not give out on me on the Turnpike, I am thankful that I have a wonderful husband that was there to help me, I am thankful that we have a second car to drive while my mini van gets a new transmission and that my husband has a take home car from work. Am I happy that we were his with huge bill to pay? HELL NO! But I am still thankful for all the other blessing the Lord has given us. Have a wonderful day

Wedding album

Alright, so this Saturday I got together with my 3 scrapping partners in crime for Jen's birthday, first we went to Scrapbook Central to get some goodies, can I tell you that that place is heaven to me? Oh my word! They had so so many beautiful things but I was sort of on a budget since my transmission died on me Friday at 1:00 pm while I was driving around Hurricane Sol to put her to sleep. I will post pictures of that drama tomorrow. Back to our get together.... We scrapped at my mother in laws and I chose to make a wedding album for my dearest friend Eli that got married on 10/18/2008 to a wonderful guy. I made this album for them so that they can journal all over it so that 50 years from now then can look back and see everything they felt at that moment, the wonderful speech his uncle gave, what their daughter Chailyn felt on the picture we took of her while they were pouring the sand in the bottle... well, you get my point. When I gave it to them they were so happy and thankful that it was worth the 12 hours I spent on it this Saturday. I strongly suggest to anyone that has the time to make such an album to do so. Hope you like it.

Challenge 35

Here is my take on challenge 35 at The design Experiment.

Journaling: Having you in a private Montessori school is a huge financial sacrifice. Some have even said we could be debt free if not for that expense. Your education is a financial sacrifice we would do over and over again without blinking an eye. Your education is the key to your future.

38 Layouts

So!
This is what the 38 Halloween layouts that I did for Angejolie's classmates looked like.

Photobucket

Photobucket

The funny thing is that since the economy is tough right about now I decided it would be best for our wallets if I did everything, meaning instead of using embellishments I decided to stamp 38 ghosts, trace and cut 38 papers where the parents could fill in what their kids fave color was in October of 08 as well as other things that I wrote. Did I mention that I decided to go balls out ans distressed all the papers. I figured if I was going to do layout for the kids, I would do it as if it were for our girls. The all look the same just different papers. I thought it would be a nice act since there are so many moms and dads who can not come to school events because they have to go to work.

Now! I have a bone to pick with the photographer that took my Angejolie's school picture.
We got her picture yesterday (she is as cute as always, in my eyes) and the first thing my husband and I noticed is that she had food in her teeth, then he hair was a tad bit of a mess, and OH! YEAH! The flipping picture is dark as hell. Let it be know that when I took the 38 pictures of her classmates on Halloween, I made sure that the boys masks were on right, that the little girls hair were neat and all that was being done while they were running outside and I did it for free. Now someone please tell me why the photographer could not take that extra minute to make sure that my daughter looked somewhat presentable. I tell you, some people should NOT be photographers. Anyhow, thank you so much for reading and letting me vent ;D
Have a wonderful weekend.

What a week!

Get ready for a long post

So this is what I was doing the night that Obama won, my dear husband was working, 38 Halloween layouts for Angejolie's class, call me crazy but I know what it is to have a mom that was never able to come to school events because she had to work, so I took a picture of every kid in her class to make a layout. I have been blessed with a boss who lets me come in to work when ever I can with Soli mind you. Wether I work 1 hour or 4 hours, she is ok with it because she knows how important my girls are to me.
Photobucket

While history was being made, this is what our girls were doing
Photobucket

Please be advised that our girls have beautiful matching jammies but they chose to wear what ever the hell they want at night, and I know what battles to pick ladies and this one is not one ;)

Hubs made on time for this
Photobucket

Photobucket

On Wednesday I got the bad news that my Girl Jiggen has invasive breast cancer but I am glad to say that I finally spoke with her yesterday and she is in good spirit. She has her sad moments but it is to be expected, she is human. Her strength and positive attitude amazes me, when we talked she was the same girl I had talked to Wednesday morning before her surgery. She at no time wanted pity from me, we talked about cropping together this weekend for her 30'th birthday, nothing like playing with papers and tape to brighten the mood.

OK! So by now most of you know how I love my Sundays... well leave it to my weekend warrior husband to ruin it for me. Boy! He is lucky I love him because I could have choked him. He decided to go trail riding at Oleta part and claims a tree jumped out of nowhere and a branch took out a small chunk of his inner ear. So needless to say we spent 3 hours in the emergency room.

Soli took this picture of me with the help of Daddy, how happy do I look ;)
Photobucket

Photobucket

I will not lie, I left once to get some coffee from Dunkin Donuts and a second time to go to Michaels, yep ladies, a scrapping fanatic will always find a scrapbook store or craft store no matter where she is LOL.

as we were leaving to Michaels, Soli got to see her first squirrel up close, it was such a cute moment, she was like "skwell go tree?"
Photobucket

Oh yeah! We also watched the entire Dolphin's game, so glad they won, that was close
Photobucket

So after 3 hours, here's my poor husband, he got shots, stitches but such a hug and kiss from Soli
All she could say was "Daddy ayayayyy ear"
Photobucket

Photobucket

So! There it goes, that is how I ended my week. I hope tomorrow is good to me because I do NOT like Monday LOL. Have a wonderful week ladies and thanks for reading. By the way, you are not seeing wrong, Sol has a different outfit on, she spilled water all over her pants so I had to change her :D :D

I do not think, I know

I have not been able to scrap since Wednesday when I found out that my dear friend Jennifer. has cancer, that is until today. Damaris posted that there were some people who had not yet submitted their fourth and final layout for the RAK at Scrapbook Designs Unlimited. I really was not going to do it because I have had this cloud of sadness over me. Later on as I was thinking of Jen and waiting for her husband to call me I thought to myself, cheer up, she is going to kick this beasts @$$ and pulled out a picture that I took of her, Joel and Sabrina at our Thanksgiving party and did this

Photobucket

Photobucket

I know the challenge was to use "I THINK" as the quote, well... at that moment I thought to myself "I DO NOT THINK , I KNOW YOU WILL KICK THIS CANCER'S @$$"

I'll tell you what, it felt darn good to scrap, I have to scrap daily to keep my sanity and I am NOT kidding you when I say that.

I also want to say how amazed I am at the out pore of love being sent to Jennifer by all these amazing scrapping strangers. Thank you for supporting my friend.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Sad news

My dearest friend Jiggy Jen. went in today to have a lump removed from her breast,
it was an outpatient procedure and she was told a while back that it was nothing.
An hour ago I received a text message from her saying the news is NOT good and if I want to know anything to call her mom because she can not talk. Her mom told me that they were told it is cancer. They do not know what they are dealing with but she will need another surgery and they will know more on Friday. This is not only my dear friend but my scrapping partner and a wife but most important a phenomenal mother. My heart is so heavy right now but I believe in the power of a prayer and the fact that positive vibes are important. So please say a prayer for my dear friend. I know she will be ok because she is a strong & positive person.

Photobucket
This is what you get 24/7 when you are around her, nothing but pure energy!

Please stop by her blog and leave her a positive message.
Thank you :)

Besides myself

The people have spoken and Obama has won!

As I sat in our bed with our girls sleeping having no clue that history was made today
I could not stop the happy tears from running. I never really care for politics since like
I have said many time I am a Canadian Citizens and can not vote, but this year was
different. Even though I can not vote, I got my husband to vote for the 1'st time is his
life...and he is no spring chicken if you get what I mean ;D

I now know that I can look into our daughters eye and say with no doubt what so ever
"YES! YOU CAN BE ANYTHING YOU WANT TO BE" and as a minority I now know
with no doubt that anything we dream of can be achieved in this beautiful land of opportunity.

God bless Amrica.

A little bit of this

And a little bit of that!

Happy Monday ladies, please be warned that this might be a long post full of just about everything.

Ok, so last night I could not fall asleep but then again what else is new so I decided to scrap and stalk my girl La Verne. to scrap lift this frame she did a while back and this is what I did.

Photobucket

It has taken me a long time to gather up the nerve to do this frame and I am happy I finally did it.

So this morning Hurricane Sol woke up in a bad mood and I ran out of my Dunkin Donut ground coffee so that meant no coffee for me and I was going to have a bad day too until Sol and I got to the office and saw this

Photobucket

Elizabeth. sent this to me. Now let me share that I have never met her in person but I have had the pleasure of knowing her through our blogs and I can not get over her kind act. And to make it better she made a little card with some kind words and placed 3 M&M bags but Sol got to 1 before I took the picture ;D So needles to say I was like a pig in poop for the rest of the day.
THANKS A BUNCH GIRL!

So here are 2 layouts that I did this weekend at Scrapbooks & Stuff. I have to say that we had a blast. They had a scavenger hunt that got my blood pressure high and acting a fool but darn it was it fun even though we lost.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Halloween was a blast as always. Angejolie screamed to every person giving out candy "DO NOT give my sister anything with peanuts, she is allergic" Solimar refused to wear a costume, I tried 3 costumes but nope, so she agreed to wear a Dora dress but refused to wear her black shoes, ladies she wore brown shoes. I swear to you I can not win. But all in all we had a great time.

Well, I hope you all have a wonderful week. Thanks for reading :)

Challenge #33

This weeks challenge at THE DESIGN X. was to do a layout about the now, the moment and I snapped the perfect picture, perfect to me that is. It's a picture of our girls and their cousins which are also our neighbours..how cool is that? They were having such a great time carving that pumpkin. They are so not aware that the economy SUCKS at this time, nor do they care where we live, all they care about are the simple things in life such as this moment.

Photobucket

And I figured I would do another layout of capturing the moment, this is us at night right before bed time. The girls were having such a blast jumping on Daddy that I had to get in on the fun.

Hope you are having a fabulous weekend because so far I am having a great one.
I just came back from a 12 hour crop that I went to with my sister in law and my bud Jiggy Jen. Have a great night!
