The number 3

One day in March of 2007 Angejolie said to me
"Mommy, do you know that you are 33 years old, I am 3 years old and Solimar is 3 months old?
And sure enough we were. We all had the number 3 in our age on the 3'rd month of the year, which happens to be the month Roger and I got married, we actually got married on Friday the 13'th of 1998.

True story.... 4 months after we met we knew we were each others SOUL MATES and decided we wanted to get married right away. I think it was on a Wednesday, that same day he asked my dad for my hand in marriage, boy oh boy! You should have seen my parents faces, for a second they thought pregers????? but NO that was not the case, we just wanted to get married. Did I mention that the number 13 is my lucky number?

Anyhow, this week I found the picture I had my husband take of us that day, you see... as soon as Angejolie said that to me, I knew I would want to scrap about it because what 3 year old says something like that? And I am not exaggerating, she is a smart cookie and pays close attention to everything, small and big. So here is my layout

Photobucket

By the way, the number 3 always reminds me of The Father, The Son and the Holly Ghost and that is why it is such an important number.

I hope this week treats you well. Have a great night.

LSS Where are you?

My post today is all about me being pi$$ed about the fact that yet another local scrapbook store
has closed it's doors. What the heck is GOENS OOON? I had this LSS which was under 10 minutes from my house and it is now gone, then there was another one which was 15 minutes away and they will be gone this week. Do NOT get me wrong, I love Scrapbook Central but they are 40, YES ladies... 40 miles from my house and need I remind you that I drive a NOT so sexy mini van which kicks my @$$ when it comes time to fill it up with gas. I guess I can always shop online but they kick my @$$ with their ridiculous shipping charges. So at the end of the day, I am screwed, either way I have to pay for gas or shipping fees ;{

Anyhow, I did this layout about my infamous road trip to Lakeland.
I trip that you would think would make me NEVER EVER do it again, but no.
We will be going back up in 2 or 3 weeks.

Photobucket Photobucket

The papers is by K & Company, basically here I used nothing but paint.
I painted my letters, the edges of the paper, the heart with the swirls, the spot where
I journalled etc..... I am becoming more and more comfortable with thinking outside the box. I give this credit to my girl La Verne, it all started with the April Studio Calico kit she suggested I get which came with the scary deer from Sassafra papers.

Ok, I spoke enough, have a great night ;D

Sketch 102

It seems like for ever since I last posted something :-O

Ever since Wednesday night I have been feeling dizzy, a lot pf pressure in the eyes,
freaking head aches from hell and more dizzynes. It's like a bad college hang over minus
the alcohol. So because of that my weekend with my partner in crime did not get so daring.
How ever my cousin and I made the best of it and we will make up for it on our next trip to Lakeland this coming October ;D

So here is a layout that I did using the Sketch 102 layout from http://www.pencillines.com/

Photobucket

I had so much fun doing it, my head was killing me as well as my eyes but there are few things I can not live without, that is seeing our girls & husband and scrapbooking. No matter how bad things get they make it better and so that scrapping. Well that is all I have for now. I hope your week is going great.

I am a proud wife

Guess whose husband got picked for the "Stop domestic abuse" billboard with the Broward County Sheriff Office?

Photobucket

Photobucket Photobucket

Photobucket

YEP! My handsome husband.
I could not be prouder.
So if you live in Broward County and are driving and see that billboard, that's my husband ;D
I am SO sorry for being ghetto in regards to the way I covered the other deputies faces but I did not know if I could show their faces and since my husband is at work I figured I would play it safe.

See how there is a mom sitting on the floor?
Well that is how I feel almost every day with my tormentor Solimar ;-D
She is 1 year and 9 months and everything has to be her way or it's melt down time.
I really can NOT wait for the day to come when she is no longer doing it that because I am ready to go banana's. Do not get me wrong she is such a loving little girl but man she has a temper. Must be that Sagittarius in her LOL.

Anyhow ladies, thank the Lord tomorrow is Friday and I am off to pick up my BESTEST cousin and her kids from the airport. Let's see what she dares me to do this time.
Have a great night.

Finally

Our girls 2007 Halloween book is done.
Like I said before, it would have taken me NO time to do it
had it not been that I had to do everything myself, from the ghosts, hunted house, etc
to the scalloped 1/2 circles, I did it all .
I distressed, painted, name it and I am so happy that I did, I know one day the girls will be so happy they have these treasures to share with their kids.
So prepare yourselves for lots of pictures.

Photobucket
This is the front and it is the only page I can not finish. I have no idea as to what to put on it.
Any suggestion is welcome ;-)

Photobucket Photobucket

Photobucket
Not too happy with these 2 pages but it will have to do until 1 day I am so aggravated by them that I will fix it.

Photobucket Photobucket

Photobucket Photobucket
This picture is hidden behind the top picture.

Photobucket Photobucket
These 2 little hunted houses were my fave to make, I love the way they compliment the pictures.

Photobucket
This page is missing a title or something, HELP!

Photobucket
As is this one.

Photobucket Photobucket
Here I used stikles for the moon and the bats.

Ok Ok, I know I said the book was done, which it is, all its missing is the journaling.I hope you like it.

Now that this book is done I leave you with this picture of Angejolie, sometimes I wonder what she is thinking when she puts an outfit together, but she thought she was all that and a bag of chips and so did I.

Have a great night!

Halloween

IS AH KNOCKING AT MY DOOR!

I bought the new Yellow Little Bicycle Frightful papers and the little hunted house album so that I can use it for this Halloween and then I remembered that I have yet to have done last years books for the girls. So I got to it last night and guess what? I can NOT find any of the embellies that go with the papers that I bought last years. So I am now stuck having to do them all myself. It is taking for freaking ever since I have to trace the witch, ghosts etc.... on paper and then redo it on chip board to give it some dimension.
Here are some pictures of what I have done so far

Photobucket Photobucket
Here is a close up of the cat so that you can see that I was NOT kidding when I said I had to rig things.

Photobucket Photobucket
I learned this technique of scratching the pictures on SISTV, so you can so that I am going crazy with it on ALLLLL of the pictures LOL. Did I mention tht this web took an eternity to cut and then I decided to paint it white so that I cut put some glitter on it and that is why all the picture look glittery ;D

Photobucket Photobucket

Photobucket

I still need to journal and add a few more touches to the pages I have done so far but I am happy with the bit that I have done so far. I know, I should be ashamed that I am just now starting this but better late than never.

Have a great night.

Sunday morning...

this is what I had the pleasure of waking up to today.

Photobucket
These girls crack me up. By the way, the reason Sol has non matching pants is because we set the AC on 73 at night and the girls do not like to get covered up.

I thought today was going to be a relaxing day, like I have said before, Sunday is the 1 day of the week that I make sure we spend it together wit NO interruptions.......
and then I remembered, my girl Jiggy Jen was celebrating her daughter's 2 year old birthday.
So that meant ironing clothes for 4, fighting with 1 girl (Angejolie) to let me do her hair, Sol gets her hair flat ironed every morning because she sees me do it to my hair and she always says "Mama hair?" "Oh! HOT!" So that is always easy, getting 2 water bottles ready because our girls drink like crazy and after doing all that, I still am ready before my husband. What is up with that?

Here are some pictures from the party.

Photobucket Angejolie LOVING on her Daddy.

Photobucket Photobucket
Solimar was mesmerized by the balloon.

Photobucket
Photobucket
The PROUD parents singing happy birthday... Sabrina was so NOT feeling it, look at that face, it screams "are you kidding me with his crap?" "please make it stop"
She did enjoy cutting her cake though. By the way Jen, sorry I only posted these but Roger's laptop is a freaking dinosaur and it works at turtle speed. I promise I will edit the pictures and send you the link to log into our computer to get all the pictures.

Have a great night and a wonderful Monday :D

The power of the internet

Hello ladies :0)

After yesterdays post I realized that the internet is one hell of a thing.
So many woman of different walks of lives, woman who may have never met let alone ever be friends had 1 thing in common, ALEIDA FRANKLIN. And we all felt the sadness and pain of her death.

I have always said, and my girl TAMROD is my witness, "I do NOT need any more friends, I am content with the 5 friends that I have" but through this scrapbooking addiction ;D I have met and continue to meet great woman through their blogs who share my same passion. Woman who not only inspire me but who also give me that little push to think outside the box.

SO THANK YOU to those of you who take that extra minute to post something nice on my blog, it means a lot to me. Who knows, maybe I am getting softer in my old age but I am really enjoying myself with scrapbooking these days.

Here is the layout of Angejolie from the day she was on Fathead.com

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

This crazy paper is by Lucky You, I got it at The Memory Market in Miami, I lost my ever loving mind with it as you can see. I painted, stamped use my new best friend the crop a dile, I also traced the letter F on a box, ripped off the top layer and painted it with black, as if that was NOT enough, I decided to doodle all over the place and distress the edges with my favorite Tim Holtz tool and add little stones.
Like I have said before, I march to the beat of my own drum and the picture is was dictates the style of the layout. Hope you like it, and if you don't... we live in America, land of the free where we can all have our own opinion ;D Have a great night. Sorry for the long post.

SAD DAY

I was so ready to post my layout of Angejolie at the computer looking the famous Blogspot.com and as I was getting ready to do so I saw that my girl La Verne had finally posted something, I got super excited because she always has great layout and then I saw this

My good friend died today....

Her name is Aleida Franklin aka Scrapping Rican, she was killed in a car accident this morning on her way to work and died instantly.
I started reading her blog because of La Verne and I so enjoyed it because she was a trip and told it like it is. She also seemed to be a wonderful mommy and my heart is breaking for her children, especially because they are SO young.
May she rest in peace and may God watch over her little angels.

More info here http://www.studiocalico.com/forums/topic/7430
Sorry I can not make it look nicer, I can not figure out how to do it other than cut/paste.
I would have also loved to post a picture of her that I saw on her blog but do not know how to do so but you can go check her out here http://ricanlaw.typepad.com/the_scrapping_rican/

Please hug your kids and tell them you love that as much as you can as well as all your other loved one because life is not guaranteed.

God bless.

9-11

Where to start?
You would think that 7 years later this day would be a little easier, and I am SO glad to see that it is not, because if it were it would be such an insult to those who lost their lives 7 years ago.

I still remember it like it was yesterday. We had just flown back to Miami at 3 am, it was my husband and I, his parents, his 2 sisters and their husbands, his brother and wife. Just a few hours later I woke up jet lagged to see the first plane hit, all I could do was cry. How could someone have SUCH hate inside to be able to do such a horrible thing? The scary thing was that my husband's sister and her husband were supposed to fly to NY for a wedding that same day and that is also the day they found out they were expecting their first child. We all gathered at my in laws and just watched the news in complete disbelief. I am for ever grateful to the Lord that he spared us all that day.

Now I have to say, I am a Canadian citizen/American resident and i am PROUD to say that I am an American resident. The thing that pisses me off is when I hear people say "You know in my country we live to work, here we work to live" "Americans are thieves" "In my country..."
Please pardon my FRENCH GO THE F@#K BACK HOME IF YOU ARE SO FREAKING UNHAPPY, NOBODY WANTS YOU HERE ANYWAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This country is the land of opportunity, but if you wants the goods, you need to bust your @$$ for it, lazy, complaining @$$e$.

I know my blog is not popular like the scrapbooking divas that I stalk every day but if at least 1 person read my post it's enough for me ;D

God bless our men and women who sacrifice their lives for ours every day and their spouses and children who are left behind in order for them to do this.

Proud Mama

No layouts to post, no pictures to post.

Maybe it's because Angejolie is my love, my life and so much more that I am making such a big deal about this but today she amazed me 1 more time. I walked into the living and my husband tells me "check this out, look at what our Princess just did" I looked at the tv and saw a paused commercial for Fathead.com and Angejolie was at the computer, she had typed the address and was showing Daddy what life size sticker of Hannah Montana she wants us to get for her, now mind you she will be 5 next month. Then she went on to say "Mommy, I am taking tomorrow off from school so that I can go to work to make money so that we can buy this." I told her that she needs to go to school to get an education and to leave the money thing to us. He they walked away to go to sleep my husband told me to buiy it for her because she went through the troubleof finding it herself online, only problem is that it's $99.99, I think it's a rip off but I kinda want to get it for her. What to do? What to do?

Anyhow, that is all I have for now, Have a great night ;)

My hat goes off

to single moms, moms whose husbands are away protecting our country or moms whose husbands have past away. My husband has had to work 2 double 16 hour shifts which means he worked from 10 pm to 6 am and 7 am to 3 pm yesterday and today. Can I tell you all that I am SO beat and this is only from playing the single mom role for only 2 days. So I have a new found respect for the moms out there who do it every day, over and over and over again.

So I did this layout for a girlfriend

Photobucket

Photobucket Photobucket

can I just say that I SO SCRAPLIFTED IT from http://michouscrap.canalblog.com/ on her September 7 post. As soon as I saw her layout I fell in love with it and I knew it was perfect for the picture. And best believe that I will use it to do one for our girls, actually, I almost took off the picture and added my own picture but the little angel on my right shoulder told me NOT to.
My girl La Verne once said to me, "just because you use someones layout as inspiration does NOT mean that your layout is not yours" so I will go with that. The pictures do not really show the 3 different papers I used in the center. I left the top part blank so that they can journal a little something and as for the little crown, it can come off if Daddy does not like it. It was a lot of fun to do and my girlfriend loved it and was very grateful. Kinda feels good to do something nice for someone ;D

Anyhow, I am off to scrap since it's nice and quiet for a change because Hurricane Solimar as my girl Tamrod likes to call her and Tropical Storm Angejolie are sound asleep. Have a great night.

Mi Socia

Chello Ladies!
What a great day today is.
We did not get hit by Hurricane Ike but my prayers do go out to those in Cuba and Haiti because they got a serious beating. I still have 2 step brothers that live in Cuba and we have not heard from them. I hope my mom gets an email from them soon.

This past January I decided to somewhat go GREEN because Angejolie was bugging me about it every day. He teachers said that she is best recycler if that is how you spell it in her class. And if you think about it, this earth does NOT belong to us and once we are gone our kids and grand kids will still be here. So I am proud to say I have NOT used a plastic bag since January 1'st, 2008, nor a cup from Dunkin Donuts because I have my own mug and the funny thing is, the ladies know me by THE MUG GIRL. So because of that, I have also decided to use up all my scraps and that is where this layout comes in

Photobucket

I found these left over papers with many others in a box, this layout is of me and my Socia, that is what I call my cousin. She is my partner in crime when we get together. She is the one that brings out the child in me, the one that will dare me to do things and the one that will cut 11 inches of my hair without thinking twice about it. My cousin is the sister I never had. And I thank God we reconnected last year.

Here are 2 pictures of Angejolie, she asked us to buy her glasses yesterday so that she can see better, her eyes are just fine, she just likes the way she looks when she is wearing them. She asked that I take a picture of her with her glasses and then another of her with them on her head like I do.

Photobucket Photobucket

And I finally got a picture of Solimar's face when she lays on top of me, she gets this look of love and joy and excitement and this is what she does every morning as she say "ahhhhhhhhh MAMA aaaaaaaaah!"

Photobucket

I could not be more blessed, I have 2 beautiful little girls and a wonderful husband, what more can a girl want? OH! I know! The winning lotto number ;D

Anyhow ladies, sorry for all the blah blah blah, have a great night.
