I did it

I had my cousin cut off 11 inches of my hair.

It seems to me that every time we get together we channel the inner child in us.
This past Christmas she dared me to jump in the pool at midnight while it was 50 degrees outside and YES the child in me could not punk out so I did it and almost died because the freaking pool was NOT heated.

So today I had just about had it with my hair and asked my cousin to cut it and she did, no questions asked. The hair is not being thrown away, I am donating it to
It takes 6 donations to make 1 wig so to any of you ladies that have beautiful long hair, think about it. It would make a person very happy. Here is a video of the cut. I have to warn you, it is very GHETTO FAB! We did it in her kitchen with regular scissors.

I am going to have to go to the beauty parlor in the morning to have them fix it because it needs to be styled. Well I am off to continue the party with my family. Have a great night.

And we are off

to Lakeland.
Now picture this, I have a mini van, I know! I know! Nothing SEXY about a mini van but it is SO practical back to the picture... hubby is driving, my brother is next to him, mom and Angejolie in the second row and my nephew D. and Solimar are on the side on the third row in their Roundabout Britax and that leaves little old me in the middle. Can we say there is a certain mommy who will need a grown up drink the moment she gets to Lakeland? Thank God for lap tops and wireless internet, it will at least keep me entertained and yes I can shut out any annoying kid noise that comes my way ;D

So I saw this sketch #14 at and decided to do it last night after I posted my other layout, here is my take on it.

I have to say that I LOVE their sketches and I kid you not when I tell you that I did this layout in 1/2 an hour tops.

Anyhow, I hope you all have a great weekend, I know we will.
Be safe, until the next time.

Ooooooh yeah!

The kids are sleeping (8:23pm)
The 1 weeks worth of laundry is finish, all the packing is done for our little trip tomorrow
and I even managed to do a layout. Did I mention that my hubby is working late? I had to do this SOLO so dang it I am beat!!!!

Well I saw this sketch on the Prima site and loved it. Now I know I am no Prima Girl but I am pretty pleased with the layout. I think I will now call myself Ghetto Fab Prima Girl. Whatcha think? Anyhow here is the layout I did of our beautiful Solimar. It's simple but just right.

Photobucket Photobucket

The papers are by Pink Paisley Pop Culture and the flowers are by Prima.

Can I say thank God today tomorrow is Friday?
We are off to Lakeland to visit my cousin and fam and we are taking Mom with us as well as my brother and nephew. All I can say is that it is going to be nothing but fun!
Have a great night.

Day 2

of feeling BLAH

Today I am doing everything at turtle speed.
However once I got Sol to go to sleep I finally decided to finish AJ's 1'st day of school LO.
The 2 pages are awfully busy and so not my style. Who am I kidding? I have no style. I march to the beat of my own little drum, I create based on the moment and it all depends on the mood I am in. You would think I had 2 large Dunkin Donut iced coffees with cream and sugar by the looks of these layouts ;D I did a lot of cutting, distressing, stamping, painting, chalking gluing. I usually save that for a day where I have the energy of a 20 month old such as Sol ;D not for turtle speed day LOL. Hope you like it.

As for the "AS" story, I chose to leave it as "AS" and not "@$$" because AJ read something from her work book that would have gone something like this "you can have dessert AS long AS" but since her BFF has an older sister I am assuming that over the summer she taught her that that word is a bad word. I guess Angejolie just learned a new word which may I say she whispered to us and has not said it since. Thank God!
OK, I have board you enough, have a great night.

Is how I feel today.

and this is why I have to drink this nasty stuff, I am a coffee person NOT tea let alone honey, how nasty but I need my throat to feel better since tomorrow is Friday ;D

My first day of school layout is stiiiiiiiiiiiiiil SCREAMING for my hands to show it some love (waaaah) i know, enough with the whining! I gotta go because Sol is sleeping and AJ just came in an said "mom, wanna do something with me? like scrapbooking?" How sweet is my Angel. Here she is on day 2 of school

What a DIVA ;D

OK so I'm back to add what AJ and I just did, as I mentioned before we are making a journal for her to scrap and note throught the school year, so here it is

Photobucket Photobucket

Photobucket Photobucket

I am so glad that we did it because she was beyond happy to get this alone time with me. And FYI that picture of me was taken by her with my beast of a camera, I have the Canon Rebel something something.... and that thing was as big as her head but she said "Mommy, I have to take picture of you with the layout because you were here to watch me, don't worry, I will be very careful, I got this" She is so grown.

Let the bell ring!

So today was Angejolie's first day back to school.
This is what our morning was like.....

Photobucket Photobucket
AJ has the "are you kidding me with that camera?" look and Sol has the "bring it on" look

Photobucket is she cute or what?

Photobucket Photobucket

These 2 were SO excited to get to class and right behind her are SoliSol and Daddy, (my husband asked that I take out his picture since he was in uniform so no picture of Sol in that Princess dress)let me tell you that I had ironed a denim dress for her to wear and it was melt down city

Photobucket Photobucket What's up with the middle finger? Think she was trying to tell me something? So needles to say she ended up wearing this Princess dress. It's amazing how such a little person can have her own little taste. I swear that if someone were to tell me the same story prior to having Solimar, I would never have believed it.

And here they are at the end of the school day with my nephew D.

Yep! He is in her class too which is great since it's his first year in Montessori and the girls can help him with the transition. So that is all for now, both girls are fed, bathed and YES!!!!! SLEEPING so I am off to scrap since I got everything for tomorrow ready.

Let the countdown begin

OK, since Tropical Storm Faye is no longer a threat was she ever? Angejolie's school will be open for the first day as planned tomorrow.
Clothes CHECK
Back pack CHECK
Lunch box CHECK
She is sooooooooooooo excited to go back to school, even though it was nice to wake up when we wanted, go to the beach or stay home, have play dates, she misses her friends and her teachers and is ready to feed her mind. That is something I tell her every morning before she goes to school. This year like I said before it is all about Hannah Montana

Photobucket Photobucket

Photobucket Photobucket and this is a gift she wants to give to the class, throughout the year they learn about the continents and these puzzles have animals from certain continents for the younger kids. She is so sweet.

On to kid #2, which may I say...... there is NEVER a dull moment with her around ;D
After dinner I hear "Mommy! Mommy Come! Mommy! Mommy! Come! I know something is up, there she is, her hair is wet and she is combing it with her hands like her big SIS does, minus the brush, well guess where the water came from............ if you said the toilette DING DING DING you answered correctly. Of course I ran for the camera and forgot to shut the door so here she is again in the toilette.

Photobucket Photobucket can we say YUK! Needless to say they got a bath at 6 pm instead of 7 pm. I'll tell you what, they keep me thin LOL.
Well gotta go read the girls a book because in 20 minutes it's lights out in this house.
Here is another Fancy Pants layout, LOVE LOVE LOVE the paper and the best thing is that all these pages have been made with only 6 papers, can you believe that?

To all you moms out there, I hope you takes lots of pictures of the kids tomorrow, I know I will. Good night.

Prepare yourself

for what is going to be a loooong post.

Lets start off with the fact that our Rock Band party was cancelled. At first a was a little upset about it but then I was happy with the fact that I got to spend the night with the family and my mom. Mom kept the girls entertained while I did a layout, then we watched Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins, can I tell you that we were cracking up so hard and non stop that I almost fell off the couch, maybe it was because I had 2 happy juices or not!

Photobucket Off the subject for a second, what is up with Mom being so light? We live in S. FLA for the love of all that is great! Mom, get a tan.

And we also watched the Olympics, do you know that Angejolie was cheering "lets go M Phelps lets go" Lets go USA lets go" and then she turns to look at me when he won his 8'th medal and says, "Mommy, you are not an American, you are a Canadian Peruvian, how come you are cheering?" My reply was "I am an American Resident" What in the world kind of a question was that, I blame it on my mom since she is always saying how she can NOT believe that I have not yet applied to become a Citizen after being here for 21 years. Here is a picture Angejolie took of his win.
Photobucket Photobucket
Do you know that afterwards as he and his team were walking with the flag and taking pictures, he stoped to walk thought the crowd in the bleachers to hug and kiss his mom, I swear to you that it brought a tear to my eye, how sweet was that?

I know, I know, enough with the blah blah blah, here is the layout I did last night

Photobucket Photobucket

I got the inspiration and quote from here layout #11 in her layout section, layout #11.

And yes! I am stiiiiiil using my Scenic Route papers, I am just loving how easy they are to work with. Well have a great Sunday and for you S Floridians get your HURRICANE SURVIVAL KITS READY! Even though I doubt that this tropical storm will hit us that bad. I on the other hand will be husbandless since BSO has made it it mandatory that they work 12 hour shift until it passes. DARN THEM ;D

Nothing interesting went on in this house today.
I woke up at 6 am and decided to scrap another layout. I am soooooo loving this line of papers.

The layout is real simple but I am really happy with it.

Here I ended up tracing the butterflies from H. Swapp on some left over cardboard since I did not have them in the color that would go with this page. I have to say that they look pretty good ;D

After spending 5 hours rearranging the girls closet I picked up my girl Tamrod and we went to Scrapbook Central, YEAAAAAAAAH BOOYYYYYYYYYYYYYY! I got the new Pink Paisley papers, I can NOT wait to work with them but it will NOT be tonight since we got my mom to watch the girls and we are going next door to my sister i law Amanda's to play Rock Band. Yes, that is what happens when you get old. We get to enjoy each others company without kids, have some happy juice and we get to walk home since they are literally 20 steps away.
So have a great night and Tammy..... we will miss you and it will not be the same without you.

Oh Happy Days!!!

Thank the Lord today is Friday.
What a week............. But it could always be worse so let me stop whining ;D
Last night I washed rugs for Angejolie's class, which will go towards my volunteer hours. Every family has to do 20 hours throughout the school year. So I usually do the cutting of lessons as well as the gluing of papers etc. this washing thing was a first. So this morning I took the girls to school to give the rugs to her teachers since school starts on Wednesday and would you know that Ms Gabi was so surprised that they were already done, I only had 20 to do, anyhow, she was so happy to get them. Angejolie is in a Montessori school and they do their lessons on a rug.
Check her out

Photobucket Photobucket

After that we went to my FAVORITE scrapbook store. That's right ladies, Scrapbook Central
And I got my hands on a bunch of new papers, as IF I needed any more papers.

Photobucket Photobucket

My visit did not last long since Sol thought the place was her own running playground, and you know the rule "IF YOU BREAK IT, MAMA BUYS IT" so I got what I could and left.
Here is what I have done so far.

Photobucket Photobucket

I have come to accept the fact that no matter how hard I try, I will never be like my GURU Laverne, she is so freaking talented, check out her blog but I am pretty happy with my simple style, I guess that is what makes me, me. Have a great night. I am sneaking off again to Scrapbook Central, this time with my girl Tamrod.

Thursday, August 14, 2008

I was able to do not 1 but a 2 page layout.

These pictures are from 12/31/06.
As many of you know that is the day my Father lost his battle with cancer and he passed.
What a day he chose to go, I always told my mom that he chose that day so that she would never go out and party on new years eve :D
I am finally ok with doing a layout about that day. How though because I woke up to my husband standing by my bedside and I knew, I knew by that look that my Dad was no longer with us in body but would for ever be with is in spirit. And the weirdest thing was that I had just had a dream with my BEST FRIEND Cathy whom because of my immaturity and stupidity I had not spoken to in almost 10 years and I immediately called 411 and found her. Do you know that we spoke that day as if we had just spoken the day before. She came to my fathers viewing and made me laugh and I knew then why she was my BEST FRIEND. Well needless to say she in a huge part of my life and how interesting is it that we both have 2 girls and they are close in age. Sorry for the long post about my personal life but it feels good to get it off my chest.

What I did here was use the back of the above layout (want not waste not)

"Bring me joy, bring me peace
Bring the chance to be free
Bring me anything that brings your glory
And I know there'll be days
When this life brings me pain
But if that's what it takes to praise You
Jesus, bring the rain"

I got this quote from here and I have to say that her faith amazes me.

If you have not spoken to someone you love, put your pride aside and call them, and if you are blessed to still haver your parents around, tell them every day how much you love them even if sometimes you want to choke ;D
Well that is all for now, have great night.

Beat beat beat!

That is exactly how I feel right now.
This morning I woke up to 4 beautiful little girls and they have managed to suck the life out of me. So needles to say I am too beat to do a layout. However I want to share the most beautiful pictures I took of our 2 Princesses.

Photobucket Photobucket

Photobucket Photobucket

Notice how AJ and Sol have matching tops, well Sol's is a dress since it's a 4T because they do not sell CAMP ROCK clothes for little girls and Sol kept screaming "CAM WOCK" over and over until I bought the freaking top which mind you cost $14.99 @ Target and then AJ wanted one too since it was not fair... blah blah blah.
The first picture came out a little blurry since I was NOT expecting this little cat walk pose from SOL and I just wanted to make sure I got the picture. I need to do a layout but have NO idea of what to do. Please HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLP! Any suggestion is welcome.
Well that is all for now, I am beat as I have mentioned over and over.
Have a great night.

Oh Yeah! The drawing on the walls were done by AJ when she was Soli Sol's age and I can not get myself to paint over it, hence the ugly as all hell purple wall :D :D :D
